>> we mailed out 450,000 ballots and as of yesterday we have received 202,000 back in the mail. we picked up the mail today and we got maybe another 20,000 back. we'll go back to the post office tonight because all of the ballots have to be in our possession by 8:00. we have about 100 of those trades that came in today. when every voter it sends their ballot back it has the signature verify. that takes place in this room. we do that using automatic signature recognition. if it does not get picked up by b.p. equipment we have a person up visually verify the signatures.

blue, no surprise there. indiana goes to romney and that went to obama and 08. that is worth noting. obama has illinois and massachusetts has romney. delaware goes to obama. a couple of these key states that we're falling on the east coast, florida and virginia are two key swing states. governor romney is slightly favored in florida and virginia looks to be a virtual tossup. ohio is the big state with 20 electoral college votes. no president since 1964 has won the vote with out taking ohio. we will bring you the very latest information but right now 67 to 65 with governor romney in a slight lead.

will hear about ohio later. as results did begin to trickle and there are no surprises yet. >> there has been no surprise in the electoral college. we are talking about florida and virginia and new hampshire. new hampshire should be coming in sound because they're smaller and has the least number of votes. virginia will be interesting, and they are extended to 11:00 p.m. our time all the votes they're talking about are in northern virginia. that is where president obama has to win big. he had to take is at face value, some of the numbers coming in in terms of the keep richmond suburbs shows that president obama and mitt romney winning that area but by the same margin as john mccain. that is not the kind of numbers that they want but it is very early. >> we're talking about what could be in virginia, suggesting a good turnout.

what could that mean? >> both sides are getting good numbers right now. there are issues from the exit polls, forget about the numbers. a couple of things one is that the latino vote is significantly up from 2008. that means it could cut significantly for president obama. the second issue is that hurricane sandy may have been an october surprise after all. 50 percent of the people say that that haggling of hurricane sandy was the most important factor for them. >> there has been an explosion of social media way beyond 2008. >> if you would like to
